    Norfolk State University is an NCAA Division I School. Teams compete in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. Men’s sports include baseball, basketball, cross country, football, tennis, and track & field. Women’s sports include basketball, bowling, cross country, softball, tennis, track & field, and volleyball. The team nick-name is the Spartans. There is a cheerleading squad and a marching band.
